Good to know
What equipment do I need to show a menu on a TV?
A computer running Google Chrome, connected to the TV by HDMI. Open your display's link, click Fullscreen, and leave it running. It keeps itself up to date. Smart-TV built-in browsers and streaming sticks aren't supported yet, so please don't count on them for now.
Will my QR code ever change?
No. Each menu's QR code points to a permanent link. You can rename the menu, move it to another location or rewrite every item, and printed codes keep working. TV display links are permanent too.
How do updates reach my screens?
Edits are saved as a private draft. You can preview them for TV and phone, and nothing changes for customers until you press Publish. After that, open TV screens pick up the new version within about 20 seconds, and the QR menu shows it the next time someone opens or refreshes it.
Does marking something sold out need publishing?
Yes. Sold-out changes work like any other edit: mark the item, then publish. The editor always shows whether you have unpublished changes.
What happens if my menu is too long for one TV screen?
MenuBoard splits it across screens that rotate every 8 seconds instead of shrinking the text until nobody can read it. You can also pick which categories each TV shows. For example, drinks on one screen and food on another.
Can customers order or pay through MenuBoard?
No. MenuBoard shows your menu. It doesn't take orders or payments, and it doesn't connect to a point-of-sale system.
