Privacy Policy

Version 2026-09-29 · Effective September 29, 2026 · Updated October 2, 2026

PourSlate is operated by ILearn Games Studios LLC, doing business as PourSlate (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information PourSlate handles and why. It covers two groups of people: business customers who create an account, and menu viewers who look at a business's menu on a TV or by scanning its QR code.

Information from business customers

  • Account details: business name, username, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a salted one-way hash; we can't read them.
  • Agreement record: which version of the Terms of Service and this policy you agreed to at signup, and when.
  • Menu content: locations (a name and an optional address), menus, categories, items, prices, descriptions, availability, item photos, your logo and brand colors, and TV display settings.
  • Billing: if you subscribe, you buy through Link, Stripe's merchant of record service. At checkout Link collects your name, email, billing address and payment details to charge you and work out tax. Your name, email and billing address are also kept with your customer record in our Stripe account. PourSlate stores your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, your subscription status and billing dates. We never receive or store your full card number.

Information from menu viewers

People viewing a published menu don't create an account, and PourSlate doesn't ask them for any information, set cookies or run analytics on menu pages and TV screens. Like any website, our hosting provider's servers record basic request information (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) in server logs. See “How long we keep information” below.

Website analytics

To understand how many people visit our website and which pages they use, our marketing pages, sign-in and signup pages and the business dashboard load Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't set cookies, use local storage or fingerprint your browser, and it doesn't follow you across other websites. For each page view it sends Cloudflare the page address, the referring page, your browser type and page-load timing; Cloudflare doesn't use your IP address to identify or track you. We see only totals, not individual visitors. It isn't used on published menus or TV screens. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't use Google Analytics or any advertising or tracking tools.

Security and error records

  • To stop password guessing, we count failed logins, signups and password-reset requests by IP address and by username or email. These counts are deleted automatically after 15 to 60 minutes.
  • If a page fails with an error, the page address and technical details of the error are written to our server's error log, and an error report is emailed to our team. The email also includes your IP address, browser details, your username if you're logged in, and the names of any form fields that were submitted. It leaves out what was typed into the form, the page address's query string, passwords, cookies, security tokens and keys.

Cookies

PourSlate uses only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and a security cookie that protects forms from cross-site request forgery. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies; our website analytics (above) works without cookies. Stripe's and Link's checkout and billing pages, which you only visit when you subscribe or manage billing, are covered by Stripe's privacy policy and Link's privacy policy.

How we use information

  • To run the service: store your menus and show your published menus on your TVs and QR menu pages.
  • To manage your account and subscription, including password reset emails.
  • To respond when you contact us, and to keep the service secure and working.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

What's public

When you publish a menu, its content (including your business name, logo and item photos) is visible to anyone who has the menu's QR code or link, or a TV display link. These links are long and hard to guess, but anyone you share them with can view the menu. Unpublished drafts and previews are shown only to you when you're logged in. Uploaded images are stored under random, hard-to-guess file names.

Service providers

  • Hosting: our hosting provider stores the PourSlate database, uploaded images, backups and server logs, and sends password-reset emails and error reports, on servers in the United States.
  • Website analytics: Cloudflare, Inc. provides the cookieless page-view statistics described above.
  • Payments: Stripe, Inc. and its Link service. Link sells PourSlate subscriptions as merchant of record: it processes payments, collects and pays sales taxes, sends receipts, and handles payment questions and disputes.

PourSlate's pages load their code, fonts and styles from our own servers, not from third-party networks. The one exception is the Cloudflare Web Analytics script on the pages listed above.

How long we keep information

  • Account and menu content: while your account is open. Photos you replace or remove may stay in storage until your account is deleted.
  • Billing records: up to 7 years, for tax purposes.
  • Login, signup and password-reset counts: 15 to 60 minutes.
  • Our server's error log: cleared on the first day of each month.
  • Error report emails: deleted within 30 days.
  • Our hosting provider's server logs: processed once a day into traffic statistics, then deleted. We don't archive them.
  • Database backups: 14 days. They include account and menu details, not uploaded images. These are the only backups; our hosting provider doesn't keep its own.

Deleting your account

There are two different requests, and they do different things:

  • Deleting your PourSlate account (ask us; there's no self-serve delete button yet): within 30 days of your request, we cancel any subscription and permanently delete your account, menus and uploaded images from PourSlate. We keep billing records for up to 7 years (see above), and copies can remain in the backups and logs listed above until they're deleted on those schedules.
  • Asking Link to delete your payment information (ask Link): Stripe cancels your subscription and removes your payment details from its records, including those in our Stripe account. This doesn't delete your PourSlate account. Your account and menus are kept, but published menus stop showing until you subscribe again. To delete your PourSlate account too, ask us as well.

Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your account and menu content in your dashboard at any time. Wherever you live, you can also email us to ask for a copy of your personal information, or to have it corrected or deleted. We'll respond within 30 days. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of.

We use your information to provide the service you signed up for and to keep it secure. If you're in the European Union or the United Kingdom, those are our legal bases (performing our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in security), your information is stored in the United States, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

PourSlate is a service for businesses and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use HTTPS for every page, store passwords only as hashes, limit repeated login attempts, check that uploads are real images, and never handle card numbers ourselves. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new version number and effective date. For significant changes, we'll email account owners at least 14 days before they take effect.
